Dr. Abdel H. Noureldin is Program Director, Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor and Senior Consultant at Department of Emergency Medicine in Tawam Hospital, United Arab Emirates University, Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates.
He earned the undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science) and postgraduate (Medical Doctor) degree from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. He is also a Fellow of the American Board of Emergency Physician and Fellow of the American Board of Family Physicians.
His research interests include airway management, critical care and trauma. He intends to pursue writing an I-book for emergency medicine for medical students and intern, with a focus of providing free material to promote Emergency Medicine in 3rd world countries in future.
Dr. Anwar Al-Awadhi currently chairs the department of emergency medicine at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital-State of Kuwait, and the examination committee of the Kuwait Board of Emergency Medicine (KBEM) at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization (KIMS). He maintains his international position at the Center for Disaster Medical Sciences (CDMS) at the University of California Irvine, where he completed his fellowship in International EMS/Disaster Medical Sciences.
Anwar holds a strong interest in global health, emergency medicine and international disaster mitigation, preparedness, mass casualty response, management and recovery, quality improvement, medical education, training, certification and credentialing, and health care access inequalities. He was involved in the Large Scale Emergency Readiness (LaSER) Project at the NYU Center for Catastrophe, Preparedness, and Response. Through his work at the Center for Disaster Medical Sciences at UCIMC, which he has collaborated with his supervisors to establish, he seeks to standardize global disaster, emergency and humanitarian education, training, deployment and responses to disaster events at the global arena. He also devotes time to establish and develop emergency medicine and disaster/emergency medical services (EMS) training, education, credentialing and certification in Kuwait.
Anwar obtained his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After working for the Ministry of Health in Kuwait, he moved to the United States to pursue clinical training in emergency medicine. Anwar completed his training at the New York University / Bellevue Residency Program in Emergency Medicine, and is presently a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). He then pursued subspecialty training in International Disaster Medical Sciences / EMS at the University of California Irvine where he served as a Fellow. During his time in California, he also obtained a Master of Public Health degree and a Global Health Certificate at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He holds memberships at various professional organizations, including the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). He is also the international disaster medicine ambassador of ACEP to the State of Kuwait. Anwar has helped to establish the Kuwait Board of Emergency Medicine (KBEM), Tele-medicine/Tele-trauma project in Kuwait, and is currently working at the National Trauma System (NTS) implementation, so as the Unfired Command System for Disaster Management.
He currently lives Kuwait and, when not busy caring from critically ill patients, he enjoys various water sports, other outdoor activities and biking.
Dr Husnain Hashim. FCPS, FEBN, MSc Stroke Medicine .
I have done my graduation from Islamabad, Pakistan., Pakistan. Did fellowship in Neurology in 2010. Became fellow of European board of neurology in 2015. Also completed MSC in stroke medicine and vascular neurology from Austria . Joined neurology department Rashid Hospital in 2011. Currently he is working as Senior Specialist Neurologist and Stroke Specialist.
I graduated from the King Saud University Medical School in 2004. Then I worked at the King Khalid University Hospital Emergency Department in Riyadh for one year. After which I moved to the SAAD Specialists Hospital, a private tertiary hospital in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, where I began preparing for the US residency training in Emergency Medicine. I joined the George Washington University Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency program in Washington DC. I completed my residency in 2013, then a year later I was certified the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
I worked at the King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Dammam for a year, then I moved to Dubai, joining the newly established Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Dubai Healthcare City.
I currently serve as an Emergency Medicine Consultant and Emergency Department Head, as well as the Medical Director for the hospital's Life Support Training Center.
I am fond of computer programming logic and information technology for years. With the conviction that the IT's applications for the healthcare delivery will be transformative in every discipline, I decided to pursue the Master's of Medical Informatics program at the Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Maria Khan completed her basic medical education from the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. She then went on to do her post graduate training in neurology from the same institution. She did one year of training in Stroke neurology following which she got selected for an NIH funded program, International Cerebrovascular Translational Research Fellowship. As part of this, she completed a Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2013. She moved to UAE the same year, and since May 2014 has been a part of Rashid hospital Neurology service.
Her main research interest is Stroke and Cerebrovascular disease epidemiology. She has more than 20 publications in international peer reviewed journals. She is currently involved in several research projects from Rashid hospital.
Dr Buhumaid earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at United Arab Emirates University, Al-Ain, UAE in 2007 and then interned at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE in 2008. She completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at George Washington University, Washington DC, USA in 2013. Dr Buhumaid was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha society and served as a chief resident during the final year of residency training. She was also presented with resident teaching award and excellence in resident research award. In 2014, she completed an Emergency Ultrasound fellowship in Massachusetts General Hospital- Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA , USA. She then joined the emergency department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE and serves as a emergency physician. Dr Buhumaid is American board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Registered Medical Sonographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Dr. Saleh is the first Canadian and American board-certified emergency physician from the United Arab Emirates. He completed his medical education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He then completed the Royal College Emergency Medicine Residency Program at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (2002-2007). In 2008, he completed a fellowship in clinical Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at the University of Toronto in Canada followed by a Disaster Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA as Harvard's first Disaster Medicine fellow and as co-founder of the program (2009). In May 2011, he obtained his MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health at which he is currently enrolled in a DrPH program in Health Care Management and Leadership. Dr. Saleh is currently an Emergency Medicine Consultant and Head of the Emergency Department at Zayed Military Hospital and is the founder and chairman of the Trauma System Initiative of the Emirate of Abu. He is also the founder and president of the Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine (ESEM) and actively playing a leading role in planning the future of emergency healthcare locally. Dr Saleh has contributed to several textbooks and peer-reviewed articles in the field of Emergency Medicine, and has presented in several conferences regionally and internationally.
